The Thai–China One Belt One Road Investment Trade Association places great importance on strengthening cooperation among Thailand, China, and ASEAN across the Silk Road in various dimensions, including trade, investment, education, research, human capital development, and knowledge exchange.
The Association recognizes that education and human resource development are fundamental to building high-quality, stable, and sustainable cooperation. Therefore, by resolution of the Association's Board of Directors, the BRI Institute of Research and Development on Economic and Education (BRI Institute) was established on 9 September 2023.
To support the development of Thailand–China relations in a new dimension and respond to changes in the global economy and labor market, the Thai–China One Belt One Road Investment Trade Association, together with the BRI Institute, has developed the concept of an Educational Resource Integration Center as an important mechanism for connecting educational resources among Thailand, China, and the international community.
The underlying principle is:
“Education is the foundation for building stable, long-term, and sustainable cooperation.”
1. Role and Objectives of the BRI Institute
The BRI Institute aims to develop into a platform for research, education, knowledge development, and academic cooperation, connecting Thailand, China, ASEAN, and countries and regions along the Silk Road.
The Institute also seeks to establish and expand cooperation networks among universities, research institutions, academics, government agencies, businesses, and industries.
Its areas of operation include:
- Research and policy studies
- Curriculum development
- Human resource and talent development
- Student and academic exchange
- Knowledge transfer and dissemination
- University and research collaboration
- Connecting academic knowledge with business and industry
At the heart of the Institute's work is the creation of a bridge connecting:
Education – Knowledge – Talent – Technology – Business – Industry
The objective is to ensure that knowledge can be translated into practical applications while creating new opportunities for students, educators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and businesses.
2. Development of the International Education & Chinese for Business Resource Integration Center
Building upon the experience and extensive cooperation networks of the Association and the BRI Institute, the concept of the:
International Education & Chinese for Business Resource Integration Center
has been developed as a mechanism to collect, connect, integrate, and facilitate the transfer of educational resources among Thailand, China, ASEAN, and the international community.
The Center seeks to bring together and connect a wide range of resources, including:
Universities • Research Institutions • Faculty Members • Academics • Experts • Academic Programs • Students • Knowledge • Scholarships • Research Grants • Technology • Innovation • Businesses • Industries
Through this integration of resources, the Center aims to contribute to the development of an educational ecosystem that responds effectively to changes in the economy, technology, and the labor market.
3. Chinese for Business: From Language to Skills and Opportunities
One of the Center's key areas of focus is:
Chinese for Business
The program goes beyond language learning by integrating Chinese language skills with practical knowledge and competencies in:
Trade • Investment • Economics • Business Management • Culture • Business Negotiation • International Communication
The aim is to prepare students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and other interested individuals who seek to work, communicate, or conduct business within the:
Thailand–China–ASEAN
business and economic environment.
Chinese language learning is therefore viewed not only as a communication skill, but also as a means of developing business capabilities, cross-cultural understanding, professional skills, and new opportunities.
4. International Education Resource Hub
The BRI Institute aims to develop the Center into an:
International Education Resource Hub
serving as a platform for connecting and integrating educational resources through the following development chain:
University → People → Knowledge → Technology → Business → Industry
The objective is to ensure that educational resources are not confined within academic institutions, but can be further developed and applied to create tangible value for society, the economy, business, and industry.
5. From Knowledge to Value Creation
The Center promotes a development pathway from:
Knowledge → Skills → Talent → Innovation → Opportunities → Development
Through this approach, the Center seeks to create an open and collaborative environment where:
Students • Academics • Universities • Researchers • Government Agencies • Businesses • Industries
can connect resources, exchange knowledge, and develop meaningful cooperation.
The Center places particular emphasis not only on the dissemination of knowledge, but also on knowledge application, talent development, innovation, and the connection between education and socio-economic development.
6. Vision
“To become an international hub for educational resource integration, connecting Thailand, China, ASEAN, and the international community through knowledge, talent, language, technology, and business cooperation.”
7. Mission
Connect Resources • Integrate Knowledge • Develop Talent • Empower Business
The Center seeks to integrate international educational resources, facilitate knowledge exchange, develop human capital, strengthen language and professional capabilities, and promote technology and business cooperation.
Through these efforts, the Center aims to build meaningful connections between education and the economy, talent and industry, and knowledge and practical opportunities, while contributing to broader cooperation among Thailand, China, ASEAN, and the international community.
